Finca Cortesín, which provided an outstanding stage for one of the most prestigious events in women’s sport, the Solheim Cup, has confirmed a new three-year partnership with leading sports marketing, events, and strategic consultancy firm, 54.
The partnership will build on the existing relationship formed in February 2022, which saw 54 support Finca Cortesin’s activation of the famous contest between Team Europe and Team USA and promote its membership and real estate offerings.
Through the renewed agreement and long-term marketing programme, 54 will help Finca Cortesin deliver legacy benefit as a Solheim Cup host venue and further enhance its position as one of Europe’s premier golf resorts.
Nestled amid 532 acres, where the Mediterranean meets the Casares Mountains, Finca Cortesín’s 18-hole championship golf course, a breath-taking design by Cabell Robinson, received widespread acclaim during the 18th edition of the Solheim Cup, with over 80,000 spectators in attendance.
Featuring standout performances from both sides, the event will go down as one of the most memorable in the history of the competition, with Team Europe retaining the title after both teams finished on 14 points apiece; the first ever tie in the Solheim Cup. The trophy has remained in European hands for the last three consecutive events.
This was another significant step in the shared journey of Finca Cortesín and 54, with the latter helping to increase visibility and awareness for the resort during the most important week in its history through a comprehensive content and earned media strategy.
Renowned for its work with some of the leading brands, rights holders, governing bodies, and major investors in sport, Performance54 will continue to provide a full suite of services, including business strategy, operations, brand strategy and cross-platform marketing strategy to further elevate the luxurious Spanish destination’s global reputation.
As one of Europe’s most sustainable golf venues, the resort proudly boasts the GEO Certified® label having implemented several environmentally friendly initiatives, including the use of 100% recycled water for irrigation, throughout the property.
Vicente Rubio, Managing Director of Finca Cortesín, said: “Having worked with Performance54 for the past year and a half, it was a natural progression to extend this partnership for another three years. The team’s expertise has been instrumental in showcasing Finca Cortesín as a recognised premier golf destination and sustainability champion. Together, we are committed to achieving our goals and crafting great experiences for our guests.”
Ed Edwards, Chief Executive Officer at 54, added: “54 are humbled to work with global leaders in sport, such as Finca Cortesin. Their commitment to staging the most sensational Solheim Cup has been nothing short of inspiring, and we have enjoyed every minute of our journey together so far. Our work will ensure Finca Cortesin continues to earn the plaudits it deserves, not only from Europe’s major markets but also from around the world, as one of golf’s most unique experiences.
