Hexagon World Series has set out its plans for 2027. The FIP-governed team padel circuit has confirmed a four-event international calendar, an eight-team competition and a new match format, and named world No. 1 pair Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia among its headline signings. The announcements came at the official season launch at Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi.
Developed through a strategic collaboration with 54, the competition grew out of Hexagon Cup, which has staged three editions in Madrid since 2024. It expanded from six to eight teams in 2025 and drew more than 37,000 spectators in 2026. In 2027 it becomes the first official professional team padel circuit governed by the International Padel Federation (FIP), with four stops across three continents:
- Madrid, Spain: 21–24 January
- North America: March
- Scandinavia: June
- Abu Dhabi, UAE: 21–24 October
Abu Dhabi will host the season finale and the series’ first event in the Middle East. It will also crown the inaugural Hexagon World Series champion, as teams collect points at every event towards a single season-long ranking. Event winners earn 25 points, runners-up 18 and third place 15.
The match format is new too. Matches are now best of five Super Tie-Breaks instead of conventional games and sets, which makes for faster play and more decisive moments. Each head-to-head pairs a men’s match with a women’s match of equal weight, and Hexagon keeps equal prize money for male and female players.
Seven teams have been unveiled so far: AD/vantage Padel Team, KRÜ Padel, ElevenEleven, X Padel, Rafa Nadal Academy Team, Team Bella Puerto Rico and the newest franchise, Team Dalma. The eighth team will be revealed soon.
Team Dalma will represent the UAE capital, and its line-up was the headline of the launch. Coello and Tapia’s partnership began in Abu Dhabi three years ago, and the pair have played every edition of Hexagon Cup. They will be joined by Portugal’s Sofia Araújo and Italian rising star Giulia Dal Pozzo.
Gary Davidson, Hexagon World Series Co-Founder, said: “Our international expansion is not just about reaching new markets; we want to revolutionise the way fans experience padel, and how professional padel is presented.”
Further details on the North American and Scandinavian host cities, ticketing and player line-ups will follow in the coming weeks.
